Sharing Stories
We all enjoy sharing stories, whether through personal experiences or reading books together. Families that create a supportive environment for stories help with growth and connection. Reading together strengthens communication, expands vocabulary and nurtures a love for books. It fosters critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and literacy development. By making reading a daily habit, families inspire a lifelong passion for learning and academic achievement. Our team values the joy and significance of reading daily. Encouraging reading fosters better focus, communication, and emotional intelligence. We warmly invite you to share any of these special moments with our Lead Educators or Teachers at the centre. They would love to share theirs with you too!
"For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.”

Learning Highlights
Learning in OSCH
At OSHC, we have been immersing the children in the world of clay, exploring its many forms and the creative possibilities it offers. The children have experimented with polymer, air-dry, puffy, and slime clay, providing them with diverse opportunities to express their creativity. This has given children the opportunity to showcase and explore thier creativity through this medium. We have been collaborating and using visual inspiration to expand our imaginations. This experience supports children to develop key dispositions such as curiosity, cooperation, confidence, creativity, commitment, enthusiasm, persistence, imagination, and reflexivity.

Fun with Numercy
Engaging your child in play-based numeracy activities is a great way to develop numeracy skills while also having fun as a family.
Games to Play: |
---|
Colour recognition. Let toddlers divide Uno cards by colour. It will enhance their knowledge of basic colours (yellow, red, blue, green). Age 2+.
|
Number recognition using uno cards. Picking the same number, colour is irrelevant.
|
Sorting uno cards by colour and number. A little bit more enhanced. Sorting by both colour and number.
|
Go fish. Shuffle the cards, deal each of the players 5 cards, other cards face down on the table. One player calls out the card he / she has in hand (example: “do you have red no.1?”. Other players check their hands, if they have it, they collect both cards, and if they don’t, they draw another card from the pile. A player who collects most cards is the winner)
